Brooke Valley School in Tay Valley Township is celebrating 50 years as an alterative private community school.
Teacher Janerae Causyn told our Lynda D’Aoust that the school explores a wide-variety of educational methods.
And she says that their students don’t have any problems adapting to the curriculum of mainstream schools once they finish the six grades offered by Brooke Valley.
So many students have benefitted from the decades of education provided by Brooke Valley and so, says Causyn, have parents.
Some of the parents become principal of the school, or take on admin roles. Some are on the building committee, while others test the water.
