An incident in Smiths Falls had residents on edge as heavily armed police were at a William Street East residence attending a call.
SFPS say just after 6 am Wednesday morning they responded to a disturbance, and a male inside the residence refused to exit, indicating he had a firearm.
Police cornered off a large area while the OPP Eastern Region Crisis Negotiators worked collaboratively to resolve this peacefully.
The suspect later exited the residence and was taken into custody without incident.
Officers seized a shotgun from the home and the 32-year-old is facing multiple charges.
