The Ontario Land Tribunal has postponed the merit hearing for CAIVAN’s housing development on the Perth Golf Course lands, originally set for August 19, 2024.
It will now take place from February 10 to February 28, 2025, with a break for Family Day.
A new Case Management Conference is scheduled for September 13 at 10 a.m. The public will be able to take part virtually or by phone.
The Town of Perth, Lanark County, and peer reviewers recently submitted witness statements to the Tribunal, highlighting concerns about traffic, emergency management, planning, environmental impact, and municipal services, stating that CAIVAN’s application needed more information.
Michael Touw, Chief Administrative Officer for the Town of Perth, praised the staff’s dedication and thoroughness in reviewing the proposed subdivision, emphasizing their commitment to maintaining the community’s quality of life.
The town promises to keep the public updated.
