It was a busy 2023 in Smiths Falls.
The annual year in review report was recently presented to council and it included a list of highlights, as well as big moments both good and bad in 2023.
That included the May fire that claimed the heritage water treatment plant.
The town made a big run at addressing the six key issues in housing, transportation, waterfront and new business development as well as fixing infrastructure by knocking off several initatives they identifed in their strategic plan.
It was also a busy year in the tourism department with several programs and special events running year round, as well as quality of life upgrades to the town like the new town square, renos to town hall and more.
