Lanark County is providing crucial support to residents in need through its Housing Assistance Program (HAP). This initiative is designed to help individuals facing rental and utility arrears, those at immediate risk of losing their housing, or those who are currently homeless.
The Housing Assistance Program offers both financial and non-financial aid to eligible residents, enabling them to secure or maintain affordable housing. Qualified individuals can receive up to $1,500 per fiscal year (April-March). This assistance can be used for rent deposits, utility arrears, rent or mortgage arrears, property tax arrears, hygiene kits, and emergency food cards.
