On June 11th, Susan Blancher and Freda Schaafsma from the Maple View Lodge Auxiliary proudly presented a $20,000 donation to the Fundraising Committee for the G. Tackaberry and Family home.
This generous donation will sponsor the new structure, “Pike’s Landing,” which will house Trishaw Bikes for residents.
The funds were made possible by a generous bequest from Mr. George Ivan Pike, a former Maple View Lodge resident and long-time area farmer.
The Auxiliary, along with several community groups, were honored to be recipients of his kindness.
The gesture underscores the importance of community and legacy in Athens.
