The Carleton Place Public Works Department has announced key dates for residents. They could be seen as a sign summer is nearing its end for another year.
On Wednesday, August 28th, 2024, the Compost Yard will close for Wednesday evenings, operating from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. This will be the last Wednesday evening opening for the season.
The Compost Yard will continue to be open on Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. until early November. Residents should bring identification to access the yard.
Additionally, the Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Depot will close for the 2024 season at noon on Saturday, August 31st.
To avoid long wait times, residents are encouraged to drop off their hazardous waste on the preceding Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
