There’s been an increase in calls in the first half of 2024 for Lanark County Paramedic Services, as Chief Travis Mellema explains.
Overall there’s been just under 11,200 to date.
The top three calls are for breathing problems, falls, and unknown emergencies. With an older population, that doesn’t come as much of a surprise.
Unknown emergencies are set on their own when they don’t fall into another category.
A frustration Mellema believes will be soon addressed.
The new dispatch system is going live in February.
