Parents at Riverside Park in the Municipality of North Grenville faced a terrifying situation on Monday afternoon.
Just after 2 p.m., a 16-year-old G2 driver was seen dangerously drifting around the gravel parking circle, putting families and children at risk.
Concerned parents immediately contacted the OPP, and some even tried to stop the driver themselves.
The driver fled the scene but was quickly located by Grenville OPP officers. The teen now faces serious charges, with their driver’s licence suspended and their vehicle impounded.
The OPP has issued a stern warning, reminding the public that dangerous driving like this puts everyone’s life in danger.
They OPP notes that riverside Park, a place meant for family fun and relaxation, became a scene of potential tragedy due to the teen’s reckless behaviour.
The quick response of the OPP ensured the safety of all involved.
