Smiths Falls is replacing its Arena Melt Pit that serves both the community centre and youth arena.
Director of Community Services Stephanie Clark said it’s something they want to jump on now.

Since the equipment failed, the snow melting process takes several steps the town says isn’t environmentally sustainable and costs around $1,000 more per month.
Council awarded the tender of around $58,000 to CIMCO, about $18,000 more than budgeted, September 3rd.
