At their September 10 meeting, the Mississippi Mills Council declared September 30 as the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. This day will honor the history and legacy of residential schools, an essential part of the reconciliation process.
Additionally, the Every Child Matters flag will be displayed at the Mississippi Mills Municipal Office throughout September, continuing the Council’s commitment since 2021.
September was also designated Big Brothers Big Sisters Month in Mississippi Mills. This proclamation highlights the vital work of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Lanark County, which supports children and youth by connecting them with caring volunteer mentors.
These initiatives underscore the Council’s dedication to fostering community, reconciliation, and youth development.
