Milkhouse Farm & Dairy has greatly expanded their Smiths Falls operation since Kyle and Caitlyn White started in 2010.
Today they milk upwards of 70 sheep per year, and have 180 lambs to their name.
Their day begins with sending their daughter off to school before the first round of sheep milking in the morning. Then it’s a day of cleaning and maintaining equipment and crafting the various cheeses and artisans they sell on-site and to local retailers.
By then their daughter is back from school, dinner is made and then it’s another round of sheep milking in the evening.
There’s very few dull days and the to-do list is never empty, Kyle told myFM.
The White’s recently purchased more land near their 805 Rosedale Road South farm, in order to keep their livestock happy and their growth manageable.
