Lanark County Offers Free Tree Seedlings This Fall

Lanark County is excited to host its annual Fall tree seedling giveaway on Saturday, October 19, in partnership with the Rideau Valley Conservation Authority. The event will run from 9 to 11 a.m. or until supplies last at two locations: the Almonte Depot at 4752 County Road 29 North, Almonte, and the Public Works Garage at 99 Christie Lake Road, Perth.

To participate, residents must be from Lanark County and bring a bag or box for transporting seedlings. Each household can receive a maximum of 10 trees. Seedlings available include red maple, bur oak, red oak, white oak, hackberry, white birch, yellow birch, and tamarack.

At the Perth location, attendees can visit the Learning Centre for information on wildflower seeds, tree identification, planting tips, and local programs. A provided map will guide visitors on a pleasant walk around the property. For further details, email climate@lanarkcounty.ca.
