Smiths Falls is waiting patiently to see what Hershey will be doing with their plant at 1 Hershey Drive, according to Smiths Falls Mayor Shawn Pankow.
Pankow says the company still has a few decisions to make, so it may be a while yet before new jobs come to the town.
Another positive is that the Mayor and Town officials have an open dialogue with the company.
So the waiting game continues. Canopy Growth sold the facility back to Hershey in August of 2023. Hershey had been in the town for 45 years starting in 1961 before leaving in December of 2008.
