You may have heard that Eastern Ontario Cats, a cat rescue in Elgin, is in Limbo after cats were found abandoned, while others were allegedly turned loose.
Kim Matheson, Co-Founder and Director of Biscuit and Purrs rescue (based partly in Perth) says her group acted quickly to help the animals.
They also answered the call when fosters called wondering what to do with the Eastern Ontario Cats they had in their care.
Cat rescues operate thanks to fundraisers and donations. Matheson says in order to ensure the cats are taken care of properly, they need help.

Matheson also says taking care of the cats left in the lurch by the closed rescue has been a team effort with other rescues helping to pull it off.
She adds the situation with Eastern Ontario Cats isn’t seen very often.
