
After months of negotiations a collective service agreement’s been reached with the Smiths Falls Police Board and the Smiths Falls Police Association.
The negotiations were led by board members Chris Dopson and Jennifer Aunger-Ritchie.
Aunger-Ritchie shared her thoughts on the deal.
Previously, the SFPS Constable salary was equal to 97% of an OPP’s.
Board Chair Shawn Pankow made a comment just before the deal was approved.
Additional benefits were also added surrounding mental health resources for both uniformed and civilian members.
Further details were not made public.
Chris McGuire was the lone board member who voted against the agreement, but did not make a public comment.
