To help connect more people to health-care providers, the province is expanding the ‘Learn and Stay grant’ to include family medicine.
Deputy Premier and Minister of Health Sylvia Jones, says the program covers tuition and other costs to include students committing to become family doctors in Ontario.
It says the program should allow 1.36 million more Ontarians to connect to primary care.
Since 2018, more than 12,500 physicians have joined the health care system, including a nearly 10 per cent increase in family doctors.
