The Ontario Provincial Police continues to actively investigate the murder of 15-year-old Reese Stanzel in Perth, and investigators are urging the public to avoid sharing unverified information.
There has been a significant amount of discussion circulating within the community and on social media about Stanzel’s death on October 25th.
Police say they cannot discuss the evidence or possible motives at this time and are asking for patience and urge everyone to refrain from spreading unverified and potentially misleading information.
Both local organizations and the community have offered support and condolences to the victim’s family.
A 16-year-old individual has been charged with second degree murder and remains in custody.
Their next appearance before the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth is scheduled for December 4th.
The identity of this individual is protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
