Lanark County recently adopted a five year Child Care and Early Years Service Plan
Transportation for families contributes to one of many logistical issues with the current state of child care in the region, says Children’s Services Supervisor Chelsea Coe.
Coe says the waitlist sits at over 1,300 families, but that includes those with multiple applications in across the county.
In addition the county needs to hire an additional 82 registered early educated childcare workers by 2027 to meet the demand.
