The Town of Perth is launching an Adopt-a-Hydrant program to help keep fire hydrants clear during winter storms.
With 187 hydrants in the town, snow often hides them, delaying emergency response times.
Residents are encouraged to adopt a hydrant near their home by clearing a 3-foot area and ensuring a clear path to the street.
This simple task could save valuable time in an emergency.
