Residents in the Town of Perth and Town of Smiths Falls can dispose of their Christmas trees in early January 2025, but there are some important guidelines to follow.
In Perth, Christmas tree collection will take place from January 13 to 17, 2025. Trees must be placed by the curb by 7 a.m. on January 13, with all decorations removed. To avoid interfering with snow removal, trees should not be put out before this date. Those unable to meet the pickup window can drop off trees at the Perth Landfill Site, located at 666 Wildlife Road.
Meanwhile, in Smiths Falls, Christmas tree collection is underway until the 10th. Trees must be placed on the curb or sidewalk, and only real, undecorated trees will be collected. The town warns that inclement weather could delay pickups.
Both municipalities offer a free and environmentally-friendly option for tree disposal. Proof of residency is required for landfill use in Perth.
