Perth’s Mayor Judy Brown is stepping away from public duties again due to health concerns.
A day after Brown appeared remotely at a council meeting from what looked like a hospital bed, the town issued a statement confirming Deputy Mayor Ed McPherson will temporarily handle all mayoral communications. That includes public statements, interviews, correspondence, and external meetings.
The town did not provide details about Brown’s condition but stated that updates would be given as necessary.
This isn’t the first time Brown has taken a leave for health reasons. In February last year, she stepped back after a fall left her with a concussion and multiple broken bones. Other Councillors have occasionally represented her at meetings and events since then.
