A Perth man is facing impaired driving charges after Lanark County OPP stopped a vehicle on Rideau Ferry Road just after midnight on Feb. 2.
Police say the driver, 32-year-old Mitchell Chapman, was arrested and taken to the detachment for testing. He has been charged with operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).
Chapman was released and is set to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on March 3.
As a result of the charge, his driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days, and his vehicle has been impounded for seven days.
Police remind drivers that impaired driving is a serious offence with legal and safety consequences.
