Kevin Francis, President of the Captain A Roy Brown Branch in Carleton Place tells myFM the Royal Canadian Legion has been serving veterans and their families for decades, ensuring they receive the care and benefits they deserve. Founded by veterans for veterans, the Legion provides free support to those who served in the Canadian Armed Forces and RCMP, making a real difference in their lives.
Francis says the Legion plays a vital role in keeping Canada’s history alive. Through Remembrance Day ceremonies, the annual Poppy campaign, and youth education programs, it ensures that the sacrifices of veterans are never forgotten.
He says its volunteers help local veterans, support seniors, fundraise for important causes, and provide programs for youth. Whether through service or social gatherings, Legionnaires strengthen their towns and cities every day.
Canadians are encouraged to get involved, volunteer, or donate to continue the Legion’s mission of support and remembrance.
