A new supportive housing program in Brockville is giving people experiencing homelessness a fresh start.
The Pathways Supportive Cabins Program, launched by the United Counties of Leeds and Grenville and the John Howard Society of Kingston and District, provides a safe, structured environment with wraparound support services.
Funded by the Ontario Homelessness Prevention Program and additional county investment, the initiative offers controlled, invitation-only access to ensure those most in need get the help they require.
Local officials toured the facilities at the opening event, praising the program as a step toward long-term housing solutions.
“This is transformational for many individuals who deserve the very best,” said MP Michael Barrett.
The program is part of a broader strategy to reduce homelessness in the region, with ongoing collaboration between counties staff, emergency services, and community partners to ensure its success.
