Game 1 of a Best of 5 playoff series between the Smiths Falls Jr. Bears and Carleton Place Jr. Canadians goes Saturday.
Getting to the postseason was a goal on its own for Jr. Bears Head Coach JB Ryan.
They climbed the rankings with a nine game winning streak in the second half of the season and finished fifth place in the Richardson Division standings.
Back from the OHL’s North Bay Battalion is Jr. Canadians goaltender Charlie Larocque.
Ryan considers Larocque the best goalie in the league, and knows they’ll have to stick to the basics to try and get pucks past him.
Larocque and the Canadians eliminated Smiths Falls in second round action in five games a season ago.
Puck drop for Game 1 is 7:30 p.m. Saturday in Carleton Place.
