The Lanark County OPP charged a 26-year-old after finding a gun and suspected cocaine in a vehicle stuck in a snowbank on Station Road in Drummond-North Elmsley Township.
Officers found the vehicle around 10:30 p.m. on February 23 and discovered the driver had an outstanding warrant from Carleton Place. A search of the vehicle led to the seizure of a firearm and several grams of suspected cocaine.
Skylar Duchene, 26, of no fixed address, has been charged with assault, uttering threats, mischief, possession of a firearm, possession of a firearm when prohibited, and trafficking a Schedule I substance.
The accused was released following a bail hearing and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on March 31.
The OPP reminds residents that illegal drugs and firearms put the community at risk and urges the public to report suspicious activity.
