Carleton Place daycare staff proposed a fee increase for Town Childcare Services for eligible school-age groups that are not covered under the Canada-Wide Early Learning Child Care Agreement.
Children aged 0-5 years, who fall under CWELCCA, will not be affected as their rates are frozen per government regulations.
Daycare Director Tracey Freill explained the numbers
She noted this year’s jump was lower than last year which was 3.9% and that she and her staff were well aware of the impact on families.
If ratified by Council, the new rates will take effect on June 1st, 2025.
