The Upper Canada District School Board has elected Alexander Moussa and Allison Gibson as its 2025-26 Student Trustees.
Moussa, from Cornwall Collegiate and Vocational School, will serve as Chair of the Student Senate, while Gibson, from Rideau District High School, will be Vice-Chair. The election took place on Feb. 24 during a Student Senate meeting held over Microsoft Teams.
Five candidates ran for the position, presenting speeches before a question-and-answer session and a secret ballot vote. The Student Senate includes representatives from each UCDSB secondary school, along with members from iLead and Akwesasne.
Moussa aims to amplify student voices and drive meaningful change. Gibson is committed to ensuring all students feel heard and valued. Their term runs from Aug. 1, 2025, to July 31, 2026.
