At Perth council’s recent committee meeting, the Town’s environmental services director Grant Machan provided some numbers on last month’s 2 major snow storms which dumped almost 60 cm of the white stuff in our area.
He added that the piles of snow at the town’s two dump sites were something to see and a testament to the hard work of just six team members.
In responding to questions on the water-main failure that occurred during the second major storm, he noted that in most cases such breaks are identified and repaired in 24 hours, but crews were busy keeping roadways clear.
Councillors expressed their thanks on behalf of residents for the work of the staff involved.
