A Carleton Place resident is facing additional charges following an investigation into a series of threats targeting businesses in Lanark County and Ottawa.
On February 23, the Lanark County OPP responded to a coffee shop in Carleton Place after employees received multiple threatening phone calls.
The next day, officers executed a search warrant at a home on Lake Avenue East, arresting a suspect without incident.
Initially charged with several offences, the individual now faces additional counts after a joint investigation with the Ottawa Police Service.
Matthew McGetrick, 36, is charged with five counts of uttering threats, four counts of criminal harassment, and four counts of harassing communications.
The OPP encourages anyone with information about the case to come forward as the investigation continues.
