
A lengthy report and discussion around the findings of the Youth Arena Feasibility Study ended in council endorsing further exploration of a new arena and a separate multi-sport fieldhouse for upwards of $50 million.
Other presented options were less costly, but Mayor Shawn Pankow feels wouldn’t serve the community as well.
Other choices included putting up $5 million for repairs, $12.5 million for minor renovations, and a new arena with an attached fieldhouse for $39 million.
None of these options included the addition of a community pool, a common request.
