A $50,000 reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest and conviction in the case of Lawrence Bertrim’s disappearance.
Bertrim, who would now be 44-years-old, was last seen on September 30, 2022, around 11:00 p.m. in downtown Smiths Falls.
He is described as 5’6″ (168 cm) and 149 lbs (68 kg) with a medium build, brown hair and blue eyes.
“There is a high interest in our community to resolve this case. Investigators from the Smiths Falls Police Service and OPP still believe someone has key first-hand information that will help determine what happened to Lawrence Bertrim,” said Smiths Falls Police Services Deputy Chief Chris Kettyle in a statement.
Despite following up on numerous tips and conducting multiple searches, investigators have yet to make any arrests related to his disappearance.
Anyone with any information in relation to this investigation is urged to call the dedicated tip line at 1-844-677-9404 to reach detectives directly.
Ontario Provincial Police took the lead on Bertrim’s investigation in 2023 from the Smiths Falls Police Service, who continue to provide support.
“This investigation remains active and ongoing. We are hopeful that the announcement of this substantial reward may motivate someone with key information, who has not yet come forward, to do so now,” OPP Criminal Investigations Bureau Detective Inspector Jennifer Patton said in a statement.
