While the OPP made a new plea for information in the Lawrence Bertrim missing persons case in Smiths Falls, there has been no update on two other cases involving men from the area.
Robbie Thomson has been missing since October 19th, 2023.
The body of Steve Tate was discovered in ditch along Highway 15 just north of town in November of that same year. Both men were 34 years-old.
Police released a photo of a car they were hoping to identify last May in the Tate investigation.
The Ontario Provincial Police have been forthcoming when it comes to information on the pair.
OPP spokesperson Bill Dickson told myFM news in a statement this week, “While both of those investigations remain active and ongoing, there is nothing new that I can provide at this time.
The OPP has never publicly linked the three cases.
Dickson says that in both cases, they continue to appeal to the public, asking “Anyone with any information to reach out.”
Dickson points out that some details may seem minor or insignificant, but “when looked at in conjunction with other information, could prove to make a major development in the investigations.”
