Survelliance cameras are being installed at Heritage Park in Elgin.
It’s a common location for vandalism, and Rideau Lakes council poured over multiple security options last year, including a much heftier investment on 13 Township properties, before deciding earlier this month to install two high resolution cameras.
That pleases Deputy Mayor Paula Banks.
Each camera is about $240, with Facilities and Parks Manager Steve Holmes saying they don’t have to stop at two.
They are high resolution, with motion sensors and 360 degrees rotation. They’ll be placed both inside and outside the rink.
