Two dedicated 4-H leaders were honoured with the King Charles III Coronation Medal at a special event in Richmond Hill on March 22.
Shannon Benner and John Drummond received their medals from Senator Rob Black at the Sheraton Parkway Toronto North Hotel. The award recognizes their outstanding contributions to 4-H and the agricultural community.
Perth’s Benner, former CEO of 4-H Canada, played a key role in youth safety, inclusion, and global 4-H connections. Drummond, a 40-year volunteer from Smiths Falls, has held leadership roles at every level of 4-H Ontario and continues to support youth development.
“The King Charles III Coronation Medal gives us a rare opportunity to celebrate outstanding leadership,” said Hugh Maynard, interim CEO of 4-H Canada.
The prestigious honour commemorates the coronation of His Majesty and highlights individuals who have made significant contributions to Canada.
