
The Canadian Career Academy hosted a job fair in Carleton Place recently.
myFM was there and spoke to organizers, employers, training providers, and job seekers to get some ideas of what’s happening in today’s job market.
Jessica Huether of the Career Academy said her organization was impressed with the turn out.
Employers from mining to food services to construction were looking for candidates and there were training organizations for those needing specific knowledge upgrades. Adela Polacek of the non-profit Contact North/Nord explains how her group works at assisting applicants in getting the career they want.
Some areas, such as marketing, see a great amount of competition for positions as job-seeker Melanie notes.
