The Lanark County OPP has charged a Quebec woman after tracking a stolen vehicle from Toronto to Perth.
On March 25, just before 3:30 p.m., an officer was alerted by an Automated Licence Plate Recognition (ALPR) system to a stolen vehicle on Highway 7, west of Perth.
The eastbound driver evaded several police attempts to stop the car, speeding toward town.
With a strong police presence and citizen tips, officers found the vehicle and its driver on Ebbs Bay Road in Drummond-North Elmsley Township. A woman was caught trying to flee on foot.
Sara-Ann Mallette-Whebley, 29, of Terrebonne, Quebec, was arrested and faces multiple charges, including possession of stolen property, dangerous driving, and flight from police.
The accused was held for a bail hearing.
