Rideau Lakes Township is calling on residents to voice concerns or ask questions about recent turmoil through official channels.
A statement on the Township’s Facebook page reminded the public to contact the appropriate staff at the Municipal Office, as comments are not monitored on Facebook posts or community forums.
The call comes after a series of events, including Mayor Arie Hoogenboom stepping back from his duties due to ongoing conflicts with council members. Hoogenboom cited “unacceptable behaviour” from five councillors as the reason behind his decision, which was made on medical advice.
In the wake of a no-confidence vote and integrity commissioner reports, Councillor Joan Delaney also announced her resignation.
Residents wishing to reach out to the Township can find the staff directory here.
