A flood warning is now in effect as water levels and flows continue to rise across the Mississippi Valley Conservation Authority (MVCA) watershed.
The updated warning replaces a flood watch issued April 2, 2025. Warm temperatures and recent rainfall have caused significant snowmelt, pushing rivers and streams to dangerous levels. The Clyde River remains of particular concern, with water still rising and expected to peak in the next two days.
Lake levels are also increasing but may stabilize as snowmelt runoff slows. The Indian and Carp Rivers have likely peaked and are trending downward.
Officials warn the public to stay away from rivers, lakes and streams due to fast-moving water and slippery banks. Residents in flood-prone areas should prepare now—check sump pumps, clear downspouts, and secure outdoor items.
The flood warning remains in effect until noon on April 11 or until further notice.
Parents are urged to keep children away from dangerous waterways.
