A Smiths Falls resident is facing six charges for allegedly assaulting a police officer a day after they were released on bail on April 4th.
Police located 39-year-old Brandee Dougherty on patrol and began investigating a possible breach of conditions.
Dougherty then allegedly became irate and physically attacked the officer, before being taken into custody after backup arrived.
The officer was taken to hospital as a precautionary measure, they sustained minor injuries.
Dougherty had been arrested on April 3rd after police received reports of two individuals rummaging through cars.
