Conservative Candidate Scott Reid is seeking another four years as MP for Lanark-Frontenac.
Affordable housing, inflation and the ongoing tensions with President Donald Trump are key election issues he highlighted.
Reid pointed to growing wealth inequality that’s come with inflation.
On the affordable housing front, Reid feels local municipalities are too restrictive and are driving up development costs for a larger revenue stream.
While those decisions aren’t being made federally, Reid says the highest government does play a role.
With the Liberals having swung the polls and are now considered favourites following Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s resignation in an election previously projected to be a landslide victory for the Conservatives, Reid says it’s important to remind voters the Liberals may have changed leaders, but not policy.
Reid also spoke to the ongoing tariffs and the trade war with the United States, and the unpredictability of President Donald Trump.
