From forests to farming and spring cleanups, Arbour Week and Earth Day activities are blooming in Mississippi Mills from April 22 to 25.
The week kicks off on Earth Day, Tuesday, April 22, with a free evening at Almonte Old Town Hall from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Topics include mini forests, regenerative farming, and choosing the right tree for your yard.
Later in the week, residents are invited to a free Tree Walk & Talk on April 24 at 1 p.m. with local arborist Rob Cretien at the Mill of Kintail Conservation Area.
On Saturday, April 26, the Roads and Public Works Department is hosting a tree seedling giveaway from 9 to 11 a.m. at the public works garage.
Residents are also encouraged to take part in the Mississippi Mills Community Cleanup from April 22 to 30 by emailing waste@mississippimills.ca.
Mayor Christa Lowry says it’s a chance to make lasting impacts together.
