The Upper Canada District School Board (UCDSB) is investing $10.4 million in sports infrastructure upgrades, including significant enhancements at Carleton Place High School.
This is part of a multi-year plan to improve athletic facilities across the district. The aim is to provide students with competitive facilities for regional events and increase participation in sports. The All-In Sports initiative will also receive $1.8 million to enhance access to physical activities for all students.
The first projects will begin this summer at Gananoque Secondary School and Carleton Place High School. Upgrades at Carleton Place High will provide students with better opportunities for physical activity and competition.
“These improvements will help foster a love for physical activity and support students in all areas of life,” said Trustee John Danaher.
The UCDSB’s investment marks the largest commitment to sports programming in the board’s history.
