It’s Election Day across Canada and millions have already had their say.
Elections Canada reports that more than 7.3 million people voted early between Friday, Apr. 18 and Monday, Apr. 21, 2025.
That’s a 25 per cent jump compared to 2021, when about 5.8 million voted early.
In Ontario, nearly 2.8 million ballots were cast during the Easter long weekend, up from 2.2 million in the last general election.
Locally, Elections Canada says Lanark-Frontenac led the way with 30,003 advance votes, or 33.70 per cent of registered voters. Kingston and the Islands saw 27,845 early votes, or 26.11 per cent.
Other area results include 24,962 early votes in Leeds-Grenville-Thousand Islands-Rideau Lakes and 25,158 in Hastings-Lennox and Addington-Tyendinaga.
