Perth council took another crack at ironing out some final details on their Official Plan review with a request from their consultant to provide a few points of direction based on comments received from a variety of stakeholders including the County of Lanark.
The County, which is the final approval authority on Perth’s official plan, requested consideration of higher density targets for housing.
Councillor Jim Boldt responded to that suggestion with his views on what draws people to the Town.
In the same meeting, council’s committee recommended approving the bid to move forward with adding another cell to the waste-water facility, boosting its capacity to handle waste from 10,500 residents.
Councillor David Bird wanted that limit included in the new version of the official plan.
The Town’s consultant indicated a final version of the plan could be ready for debate before the summer meeting break.
Details on the proposed changes can be found here.
