Property owners new to the area, or even some longer-term residents, might not be aware of the stewardship programs offered by the Rideau Valley Conservation Authority and the Mississippi Valley Conservation Authority that can be of direct benefit to properties and people.
Along with clean water and shoreline naturalization programs, both Authorities offer tree-planting initiatives. Somer Casgrain-Roberston of the RVCA details how both Authorities have impacted our region’s tree population over the years.
Getting help with advice and costs is as easy as contacting either Authority.
Federal government and other funding is available to help keep costs low to property owners and the benefits will last a tree’s lifetime.
