An Ottawa woman is facing an impaired driving charge after being stopped by police just after midnight on the Victoria Day long weekend.
Lanark OPP say they pulled over a vehicle driving erratically on Highway 7 in Carleton Place on Sunday, May 18th.
Officers arrested 67-year-old Linda Crawford of Ottawa and brought her to the local detachment for testing. She was later charged with operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).
Police say Crawford’s driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days and her vehicle was impounded for seven days.
She was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on June 30, 2025.
The OPP reminds drivers that impaired driving remains a serious threat to road safety—especially during long weekends when traffic volume increases.
Police encourage the public to report suspected impaired drivers by calling 911.
