Business, youth and community leaders were recognized for making Mississippi Mills a better place during the fourth annual Community Awards ceremony. Honourees were celebrated by family, friends and members of Council at the Almonte Old Town Hall on May 22.
Richard Skrobecki got the nod for Business Champion, Charlotte Kennedy and Maeve Kerwin were recognized for Inspiring Youth, Sue Evans and Renée Kokonya Sullivan were named as Welcoming Community Champions and Gord MacDonald and Doris Rankin were winners of the Community Builder titles.
At the ceremony Mississippi Mills Mayor Christa Lowry noted that “Our 2025 recipients are mentors, leaders and collaborators who have all demonstrated passion and excellence,their unwavering commitment to the Mississippi Mills community has set a remarkable standard for all of us.”
Nominations for the 2026 awards will open early next year.
