The Carleton Place and Beckwith Heritage Museum recently launched their newest exhibit; Findlay Foundry, Moulding our Community. The Foundry operated from 1860 to 1973 and made their name and Carleton Place known around the world with quality products, many of which remain in use today.
Curator Jennifer Irwin tells us what Findlay produced.
The exhibit contains dozens of artifacts and examples of various stoves produced over the years, but Irwin says the Foundry’s founders were equally impressive.
Irwin says it’s not hard to find Findlay products, no matter how far from Carleton Place you might look.
The Museum is located at 267 Edmund Street in Carleton Place and will once again be offering walking tours this summer.
Some of this year’s tours will focus on High Street, the former home of the Foundry. For hours and more details check out cpbheritagemuseum.com
